I have a TG saddle which was used on my old horse who was a medium build TB He varied between a Green gullet and a black one which i thought was Narrow/medium and Medium.
It currently has the green one fitted and its far too wide for my new TB I have tried to see if there is a narrow or even extra narrow but the sites i have looked at seem to start at green.
I can't for the life of me believe that my old TB was as narrow as they get! He was the size of a small hippo much of the year! (saddle did for him was fitted by a saddler and he'd let me know in no uncertain terms when it needed adjusting!)

Any idea's or can anyone recommend a REALLY narrow high wither saddle i could look out for second hand- am on a very very tight budget after loosing my job which gives me time to ride......if only i had a saddle!!

TIs you're horse really a narrow, or is it muscle wastage? I've never yet met a horse, inc plenty of TB's, who is genuinely a narrow. Plenty with lots of muscle damage from trying to get wither clearance tho.....

Is you're a high wither version saddle? If not they might suit better as they'll give the clearance without needing to be too narrow.

If he really is that narrow the ask your farrier to bend the gullet narrower.

Hi- He's both very narrow and he has no muscle or fat either. I am really only wanting something to tide us over until he is a reasonable size and i have some cash to get something decent fitted for him. There is little point in spending much right now even if i could as it will not fit him i hope for long!

I had wondered if it was possible to bend a gullet in further? that could be worth a try its my cheapest option and i know its a safe decent saddle

It's harder to bend them narrower than wider but is possible. You just need to be careful it's symmetrical. Needs done in a vice as too much hammering will damaged the shape and means it won't fit back in the saddle.

If he needs to build up and fill out i'd go for a thick pad first, as it will give him room to grow, unlike a narrower saddle. Thick prolite should work well. I'd only go for a mar narrower saddle if it's sizes too wide.
