Thorowgood saddles

Can someone answer this please.

Are all thorowgood synthetic saddles the type were you can change the gullet?? or is it only a particular type?

No, the newer saddles have the gullet. My saddle is the T4 (i think) which is the older style with fish inserts - although I don't use them!

Under the studs on the front (in the gullet ish) will be two screws which will undo to take the saddle apart if its a changeable gullet. I think the newer models use an alen key rather than a screwdriver.

Maxam,griffin,selecta and maybe one or two other ones are not changable gullet.Most of the T4,T6 and def the T8's are changable gullet.

Some of the very early T4 and T6 are not changable gullet,but post 2009 models should be.

There are a couple of ways to tell,the buttons/studs on the front pommel flap will be the oval shape ones not round,and the knee pads will have a crease on them.

If still in doubt look for the screws under the front.Mostly they will be allen key type but some may be the flathead large screws.

If you email TG the serial number they will tell you the exact model details
