Thorowgood T8 saddles... Opinions

I was just wondering what people's opinions were on the thorowgood t8 saddles. Horse is in and has always been in a thorowgood t4 so I know the saddle should fit. I was going to get a new Kent and masters but as I'm not flushed for cash I am after people's opinions on the t8 as they seem very good value for money!

So just want to know general things like do the t8 saddles wear well (seat, girth straps, panels etc). Do you think they are good value? Are they well made? Good leather on the leather bits etc?

(Hoping to buy brand new, saddle will obviously be fitted by qualified saddler!)

Can't comment on the Thorowgood but I do have a K&M which is the leather version as you know yourself and I love it :) Fits my horse really well and I love how adjustable it is in terms of gullets and flocking. Very comfortable too :)
 
I'm th opposite, have the t6 which is totally synthetic with the exception of the girth straps -love it and people are always surprised to learn that it's not leather. I'd buy a t8 based on having the t6.
 
Yep T8 was lovely when I had one, pony had gonensomsaddle was sold too. I have had a T6 now since they first came out and I love it, can't see past a thorowgood saddle. If I had the cash I would have a Kent and masters.
 
I was told by my saddle fitter that the only difference between the K&M and the Thorowgood is the leather saddle. So if I was buying again on a budget would have no hesitation in buying a T8!
 
We've had our T8 for about 4 or 5 years now and it is still going strong. Lightweight, easily adjustable and fits most horses. It's not the most forward cut so Teen 2 struggles to jump in it, but we hang on to it to use on newbies or if one of our other saddles is being worked on. It's very comfortable too.

Are they any different cut to the Kent and masters? Wondering if my leggy OH will struggle to fit in it. We had thought of getting a dressage and jump as that may give him more leg room, but our saddler reckoned he'd struggle more in the jump
 
I've had 2 Thorowgoods before, the last one the T4. To be honest, I've hated both of them and will never buy them again. Hated the first one and only bought the second one purely because it was the ONLY thing to fit my horse at the time but as soon as I could get her to fit something else I got rid of it. Very uncomfy saddles with no leg support at all.
 
I have a K&M GP and had a T8 dressage for a while. I loved it, it was gorgeous, really comfy and the leather parts felt really soft. I'd definitely have another if I needed a new saddle. If the TG saddles fit then I'd say go for it.
 
I bought a T8 jump on eBay on a bit of a whim. It's a cracking saddle, and a very useful addition to the tack room.

I have noticed that the high wither gp's only come in a compact version, my OH is lanky does anyone have any dealings with this and think he will be too tall for it? Or can anyone with the jump tell me how much knee room there is?
