Thorpe Horseboxes - reviews, thoughts?

I am interested in a horsebox that is being sold by Thorpe Horseboxes in Essex. It's a used one but originally built by them and I'd like to think they wouldn't sell anything that isn't true and correct.

Does anyone have experience of them? I don't live anywhere near so would be going to view on my own as my mechanic won't go that far....... Unless I can find someone local to inspect. Recommendations there would also be useful

Long time ago but I bought my first lorry off him. He seemed knowledgeable and was good to deal with. I had it checked by a local mechanic. Can’t remember who did the check Im afraid.

Lorry lasted years with no problems. There have been quite a few lorry threads on here over the years and I haven’t seen any negative comments.

I’ve never seen any negative comments about them, there is a very useful dodgy horsebox builders Facebook page where you can post and ask for info

I didn't have an inspection by this guy but he had inspected the box previously and kindly spoke to me when it went a bit tits up and 2 garages were arguing about it, he helped confirm that everything my garage was saying was right.

We had one from them about 15yrs ago. It drove really well and never let us down but when my mates hubby mechanic looked at it he said he thought the workmanship was shoddy

We only kept it a while but tbh I thought it looked ok

A friend has one, it's quite old (V reg, 1999) but very well built.
She's had to get age related welding done on wheel arches, foot plates etc, but it's a sound box.
