You all seem to love - those that read my previous post that is!! I work in a feedstore and we get rolls of wire netting delivered in them!! That container is the envy of the yard!!! So if you have a friendly ag merchant or garden centre nearby - go and ask!!

They are watermelon crates!! They use them in the south of Spain to take the watermelons to the packing plants. They carry about half a tonne and stack up on their legs in the lorries. Easy to shift with a forklift. They are EXACTLY the things that we used in Andalucia for feeding hay that I described on a post once!

I would KILL to get my hands on a couple up here - they were everywhere where I used to live

Having had another look at your pics, yours are a bit smaller, ours were about 1m 20 square.

Could you please tell me how heavy and solid they are?

Could a determined horse shove it, tip it, break it, chew it, tear their rug on it, etc?

I love my hay hutches, but my mischievous mare keeps rolling hers around the field, and some times out of her field!!

Although it's little more than inconvenient, I'm getting increasingly concerned that she's going to break it!

HMMMM... it must weigh abot 30/40kgs, they are quite solid - I move it by sliding it onto a wheelbarrow, My 2 can be thuggy and they don't seem to push it around, it also has lovely smooth edges so very safe even if they did give it a shove or two!! I an sooo chuffed with it!
