Hello hello,

I'm off to Hickstead for the first time on Saturday. Am taking non-horsey aunt so hoping she will enjoy it too.

A few questions... what is it like getting in? Should I expect Badminton-stylee queues? How easy is it to get a seat in the grandstand, is it a case of once you have one hang on?

Also what's the shopping like? Is there a shopping village to wander round?

Cheers Guys.

Getting in might take a while but nothing like Badders - there is always a bit of a queue back to the dual carriageway but it moves pretty quick

You will almost always be able to find a seat somewhere. Obviously everyone heads for the covered grandstands in bad weather, but IMO the best one is the open one!

"Is there a shopping village" LMAO!!! The shopping is EXCELLENT, better, IMO, than Badminton as it is more horsey orientated

Have fun!

getting in isn't usually too bad, i've never waited long, for the popular classes get a seat about 30 mins before the class starts - on sunday for the derby you have to get a seat about and hour before it starts!! shopping villiage wasn't brilliant last year, but usually plenty to look at, and don't forget there are other rings for showjumping/showing and the warm up area is always a good area to view, enjoy your day!

Thanks guys. Got free tickets from a friend who works for a charity - well excited. Am wanting to see some showing too so should be a good day! Fingers crossed for the weather.

There are little grandstands too for the showing rings and also you can sit and watch the huge outdoor warm up and then there is the warm up arena for the international arena. You can pretty much wander where you like.
