I'm just curious to find out who uses which vet in this area, and who you would recommend/ not recommend?

I know of 4 vet practices that cover this sort of area and just interested to hear other peoples thoughts and experiences, good and bad.

Thanks

I'm with Anvil and have been for years - only trouble I had was when they forgot to send me an invoice and then rang me saying they had send invoice so why hadn't I paid!!
Excellent vetinary service though

I can recommend The Priory in Reigate and also Cranleigh Veterinary Surgery (who also have a Holistic Vet).

I would not touch again with a bargepole Shotter and Byers, despite them having a good rep. I used them last year as I was told they were brilliant and I'm quite far from the Priory, now. I found their customer service appalling and they kept sending me erroneous bills and even c0cked up the insurance claim, despite me filling in most of the form! It took the vet nearly 2 weeks to sign the completed form, too. They kept saying she was 'out'. Where, I'm not sure. Timbuktu, perhaps!

I used Stephen Brooks years ago, before leaving the area (and coming back!!). Not sure why I didn't go back to him- certainly was happy with the service!

ETA: Oops posts crossed. My recs are probably no use, sorry!

Milbourne Equine in Kent are really good! I would recommend them any day and always had A+ service in general stuff, emergencies or just when i am being neurotic!

I've not heard of the priory.

I know of Cinder Hill, Lingfield, Baringsfield and Bell, have experience of the first 3, but really keen to hear of others experiences and also any other practices of course.

Another one for Liphook!
Best in the area imo too, brilliant customer service and really lovely, knowledgeable vets

Another one for Mayes and Scrine. Been with them for the last 4 years and they have been truly excellent, they have done research into my pony's eye condition and always been there to help... we are on first name terms with the staff

Been with other vets but they have not matched up to Mayes and Scrine. I am also a person who has had several bad experiences with Shotters and Byers...

vote for bell!! they have been fantastic over the last few years!! always came out when i need them, and could not have been better when my horse had grass sickness, they were amazing to both me and my mum and made sure we was always kept in on what going on.

Another vote for Bruce Middleton. He has been a really great vet over the years. Shotter and Byers, is also a good one. If you were more hampshire then a vote for Hampshire Eqhine Clinic, Shane is brilliant.

Would not use Mayes and Scrine, had quite a few bad experiences with mis diagnosis etc. and now use PJ McMahon who have been excellent, all the vets in this practice are good. They are in Rudgwick, west sussex.
