As many know, we have a bit of a herd of horses, including Toby who is in training at a friends yard to be a cowboy pony and doing a bit of Trec!

Anyway, my anglo, bootiful boy who I have had nearly 6 years, must be....had a wintec saddle fitted this morning down at my instructors yard, and due to the fact he has had a nasty foot infection (farrier done an amazing job as he basically to grow a new frog) he hadn't been sat on since before Christmas.

The saddle needed a little flocking, but then fitted like a glove, we lunged him just a couple of minutes 'just in case' but he was an angel. I got on him and had some lovely walks and trots, and trotted a couple of times over the trotting poles. Now he is sound again, the fitness regime can begin once again.

I then decided to visit the tack shop and spent just a few pennies on some 'Polite' hi-viz items to celebrate!

:D

Been a busy week at work and this morning was the perfect way to relax, playing with ponies, and spending money.

I'm now sat drinking tea and just had a cream cake!

What horsey mornings have you all had? Or in fact.....not horsey, but busy anyway?

:D

I've not been able to ride all week due to long days at work/weather. My TREC training session today & son's xc lesson tomorrow have both been cancelled so decided I really ought to make the effort to hack out despite the rain. Decided on a route that was 50/50 roads & farm tracks to avoid the worst of the mud. A car came tearing past, straight through a huge puddle coating us in spray - I prepared for take off & nothing happened, he just kept striding out as if nothing had happened. Was dead chuffed. Got home & had cake to celebrate.

Glad to hear your horse is sound.

I'm still trying to dry out from yesterday :( I got drenched right thru and the dye from my gloves ran all over my hands so I've spent the best part of last night and this morning looking as if I have had an accident with fake tan :p

It's a lovely dry day here great for playing ponies and typically the only day I CANNOT GET OUT TO THE PONY  Thankfully my field share checks on them today. so i've spent the day weeding the garden but have given up now.

I have a lovely hack planned for tomorrow so fingers crossed it remains dry.

Sounds like a lovely morning :)

Today, i woke up bright and early to do turnout, walked up to my car to find some numpty had scratched right down the front wheel-arch...However, after my initial shock i managed to t-cut it out (phew). Then checked my bank to find i had been paid early woooo! :D

Got to the yard, mucked out then rode and for the second day in a row Ruby was a little star :D:D, she's just had a week off while I've been doing uni work and the weathers been rubbish :(. Then decided to go to the local tack shop and treat Ruby, came away with a nice new headcoller, and a set of 4 brushing boots (She's still very green jumping, but I'm determined to have her out xc soon). Now I'm sat at home watching TV and contemplating going back to the horses around tea time to try on all her new stuff :p.

(All of this and I have two weeks to complete the last bit of my dissertation...procrastination much??)

What a good boy :D

This morning I had the dentist (BH very good, Nitty a little wild as she's never been done before) and then went to look at a house. So busy enough but not particularly interesting. I feel like poo so have retired to the sofa now :(

Spending money in a tack shop is the way forward! You can never have too many headcollars... :D

i unfortunatly got drenched this morning sj! which was farrr to exciting for my lad and poles went flying in all directions! ahh well horsey is now all tucked up in the dry and im chilling on the bed with the kittys job searching  buuuuuut tonight im off out for a few drinkies, i say a few i intend it to be alot more than a few :D so guess i can look forward to that, hope the rain holds off!!! :D

The cake sounds good and well deserved comfort. Sounds like your horse and you have had a right bad time but all has come good. Hope it goes well from now on.

A couple of weeks ago I posted as for old boy I thought it was end of road and started making lots of enquiries on here etc about preferred method PTS etc etc. Feeling right glum I was but about to make THE dreaded etc. Farrier had a nearly impossible trim effort for first time ever!! All did not look too good. Well I moved fields(as easier place to be for PTS) up the bute to one a day and nice grass, old boy has perked up a treat. He has trashed the field looks much happier in himself and back to whinnying every time he sees me etc. So at the moment we are in reprieve mode and I feel kinda bad that I was about to have him PTS. Know its going to happen but am right glad I had vet check him and got him some bute. So we are both on a high for the moment and I am glad he is stuffing his face and enjoying the wet spring weather. (Perhaps he knew it was last chance saloon).

you must be glad to be back in the saddle :)

I went to the mill and arrived at the yard to find Jerry out in his little paddock so I cleaned tack before our 10 minute walk.
bareback was interesting as I nearly fell off just getting on :o

Pushes like button :D:D

I've had a bit of a crappy week as have taken a week off work (annual leave) to ride and the weather has been awful! We have a new livery and Jas, my TB, has made her life a misery all week. She has been an evil little wench! But arrived today to find them grazing together, so hopefully the worst is over!
Just need the rain to stop now!!! :D

Made my day when I came back from babysitting my only grandson, to be greeted at the fence by a first whinny from my boy, (I've had him 3yrs) he must be taking lessons from the new mare (Here 2 months) who whinnies softly to me every morning. So far all our horses love my OH and put up with me doing everything for them, so it's a nice change for me to be appreciated for a change.
Either that or my OH didn't feed the horses last night
