How do you feel about leaving your box unattended while you hack?

Obviously the cabs are lockable, but has anyone ever experienced and issues with people tampering with boxes/trailers when left somewhere?

Strange question maybe, but once transport is sorted I will box to hacking every other day and not really had to be concerned about this in the past.

Thanks ;)

You can secure your lorry just like you do when you park it up & leave it.

My cab locks, side door to living locks, living to horse area locks & I have a couple of padlocks on the ramp (lots of people forget about securing the ramp).

I have no worries about leaving the lorry, it's secure & it's insured in case it does get stolen. As far as I am aware no one has tampered with it.

I never thought about ramp locks, does that depend on the fixings? Like if you have one with those twisting bolts (sorry not technical at all!) you can't really padlock them? Where as those slidey clips you can.

If that made sense, kudos to you! :D

I only have a trailer, which I unhitch & put hitchlock & wheel clamp on while we go for a hack. Nothing is inside so nowt worth pinching xx

When I box up to the moor for a ride, I always put the trailer bar on my wheel s d lock it into the wagon fir security. I always park it in a busy area, knowing that there are lots of folders, dog walkers etc around. :) :)

I always leave my ramp down! lock everything else, you can't get through to the cab. I used to put it up, but some people think its funny to park behind you so you can't get it back down!

Never had anyone tamper with it in 6 years, I even leave headcollars tied up to the lorry and hay nets!

I take my trailer out to go hacking most weekends. Generally park in box parks or pub car parks. Only once did I feel the need to put wheel lock on as it was so isolated. Most of the box parks are part of the Trot Scheme.

I do leave haynets, head collars, my mounting crate, poo fork and scoop etc on/in the trailer.

I try to park somewhere fairly safe. I do tend to leave headcollars in the trailer and my trusty milk crate outside (once I'm on I cant get back off to tuck it away;)).

I always always double check the trailer before I put him back in it in case anyone has tampered with it.
