I recently decided to try my mare on boswellia to aid with her joint issues (long story!), but, as expected, it's quite potent smelling and she is not liking it much to say the least! She's on a regular joint supplement (EA Kentucky Joint Formula) already and regularly seen by vet/physio/chiro/farrier etc who are fully aware of her issues (very messed up rescue 'pony' who has been literally broken by so kind soul in her early life :( )

Any suggestions at how best to mask it??

She is fed a lovely smelling chaff (Honeychop calm & Shine) - this isn't enough, adding cider apple vinegar isn't enough, extra apple juice not enough, adding garlic/mint combined not enough.......see my problem?!

She can't have molasses added as she is already neurotic & suffers from umpteen allergies and issues (I'm sure she's actually allergic to herself lol) so bit stuck what to try next *banging head on wall*.........

Anyway - help?! x

Feed devils claw or alpha bute instead, very palatable. As for the joint supplement once the joint is in its deterioration stage nothing can stop it, so a waste of money for joint supps unless fed from a very early age in animals life to delay degeneration. Devils claw, alpha bute which is boswelia make living with the jojnt degeneration bearable, hope that makes sense.

Alphabute is blimmin expensive per kg! I agree that it's a more palatable way of achieving joint comfort though.
I've tried Alphabute, and straight boswellia, but my Go-to product is a bespoke anti-inflammatory joint supp from Hack Up, which contains boswellia, turmeric, MSM, and zeolite. Seems to do a grand job of keeping Alf comfortable, and its cheaper!

My little mare wasn't too keen at first so I tried hiding it in some Fast Fibre which she loves and she's eaten it with no problems since.
