I've heard that Olympia isn't the best place to shop for bargains! What have you bought that you thought was a bargain, or what were you really chuffed to have got?

I am going tomorrow; going for the puissance but going to get there for 2pm so I have plenty of shopping time!! :D

Got a few things on my hit list; bridle, bit, possibly ariats, heavyweight rug (any excuse for another) and someone mentioned there are some very festive looking red sparkly exercise bandages....

SO EXCITED NOW!!

Just as well I am on call for the Cop Shop tonight...wouldn't sleep anyway (yes I am a bit old for being too excited to sleep but mehh!)

:D

I went on Wednesday, and got -

2 Rydale hoodies (one for me, one for best friend's Christmas)
An Olympia Dressage polo shirt
A Tibetan Terrier keyring (again for best friend's Christmas)
A snood and fleece headband
A collar/bridle tag engraved with the name of my boy who was PTS on Tuesday, I'm going to put it on his saddle.

I *think* that's everything.

I went on thursday and bought -

1 pair de niro boots for daughter

2 hoodies

2 olympia hoodies

1 shooting coat (for hubby)

Heavy weight under rugs for the girls
Rug for yearling.
Hi-viz wrap around exercise sheets
There is more but I cant remember it all and I haven't unpacked it all yet either :D

Oh Equestrian Clearance were there doing H/W pessoa turnouts for £79!!!

Nothing ;) :)
Going again Sunday, have a few stable name plates to get, (Tally, Buddy, Millie, Roo...) a polo whip if I can find one, nothing else!

wasnt brilliant for shopping bargains this year for me but i did go on the wednesday and i guess further through the week things get cheaper!!!

i bought

a new jumping bridle

a new dressage square with half pad lambswool (from horses health, it sooo lush)!!!

a furry hat for hubby/&socks/shirt for xmas

3 doggy coats

I too thought it wasn't brill for shopping and not many bargains but picked up:-

A flat cap
Three pairs stripey socks
Musto jods
H&H for £1

If I'd won the lottery last week as I'd planned to ;) I'd have picked up a Devoucoux saddle... maybe the union jack one!!! :D :D :D

Nothing :(

I also went with a longish list and was seriously disappointed, especially with the lack of sizes etc.

Could not find any decent breeches in my size - everything was either £15 or £150!! The one pair I did find which I liked and were a good price were Mark Todds - meaning I needed a size bigger than I normally have, of course they had loads in my normal size (30) but none in a 32.

Also disappointed that Townfields only had larger sizes of the fiona hat in black, my head is not that big!!

I was there today, also had a massive list but could only find:

400g turnout rug with a neck - £80
comfort bridle - £48
extra blingy swarowski browband - £20
Roeckl winter gloves - £22
musto snuggy jods - £65
mane&tail brush - £5

Used literally everything today and am particularly impressed with the brush! :D oh and blingy browband lit up the school :D

However I have to say I wasn't impressed with the selection of shops, it was just like Ruth said either really cheap dubious quality stuff or extremely expensive things with no decent show offers! I thought I have seen several things that were more expensive than in my local shops in NW London :/

I am particularly gutted not to be able to find decent dress boots :( Nobody had anything dressy for my size :/

A fleece/bandage/headcollar and leadrope set-£29.99
Gorgeous leather headcollar with detailed stitching-£25
High Viz brushing boots- £20

Now penniless again-as usual

I didn't think there was many bargains to be had! TBH, I couldn't see the point in buying things that I could get for the same price through a catalogue and delivered to my door :)
That said, I did manage to get a pair of neoprene and rubber wellies for £29.99 (like the muck boot co ones but with better grips :) )

Which stall did you get the fleece/bandage/headcoller from?

(sounds good, so may take a look tomorrow!)

Oh god.. err.. It was near the entrance to the shopping village, it was the stand which had rugs hanging all around the outside of it (mainly stable rugs) and the fleece/bandage/headcollar combo was hanging amoungst them.. sorry can't be more help than that-it's bl**dy easy to get lost in there
