Those of you who use rubber matting

Yes my lad has a shavings bed with rubber mattings, i take the poo's out everyday and the deep litter wee out once a week. Not really deep litter, but suites me.

Mine have cardboard.

Just a corner bed as they have a back door to pens on their stables.

Totally disagree I have rubber matting with a straw bed and it works brilliantly, the stable does have good drainage.

My boy can be a dirty git and the mats have made a huge difference it has easily halved the time it takes me to muck out. I would never be without them now.
They are also better for the horses legs and dry out easily.

Luckily they were provided at my yard but if they were not I would certainly invest in them.

I use a megazorb bed - not a full bed but a good 6inch deep with bankings, usually 3.5foot along the back of the stable - love rubber matting! :)

Ours have a mix of bed-down excel and shavings, which we've found lasts the longest and is the most absorbant, but the only get a square corner bed, so we remove all droppings and wee everyday and top it up :)

we just use a sprinkle of saw dust on the damp bits and scrape it all out every morning, then skip out pm. Works a treat, minimal labour and the horses are all happy on it

I use megazorb too! Although I just put enough in to keep the floor dry, so I sweep it out every day and start again.
