recently moving back hoem means we have the 2 dogs living together, german shep and a border collie.
they now have to be fed in seperate rooms otherwise the fight, shep will have collie pinned to the floor by the throat!

i tried to walk them but i have a small child and collie gets very over protective and started fighting to get the other away from us.

dad was walking them everyday untill they chased another dog out of the park on to a main road! luckily they were all ok!

when they are walked seperatley there is no problems, shep will run off to talk to people and other dogs, and collie wont go more than 6 ft away from me.

has anyone got any advice on how i can train them to be walked together? does anyone else have problems like this?
when i didnt live at home they were fine together.

having to go out twice to walk the seperatley is getting very time consuming

Do you have to let them off the lead at first. Get used to them walking together on the lead - if only for a few inutes at a time.
I used to have treats in my pocket when we first got our two - give them one when we left the house and they knew where they were. Kepp giving them a couple as you are walking.
Have you tried haltis or something? May make control of them a little bit easier.

haltis? whats that? when i get the chance to walk them without my baby i do try and make them walk on the lead.
collie is perfect on the lead,

the collie is my dog and i have taken her to training school and agility so shes pretty well trained, shep has done some training but goes deaf when leaves the house and if you havent got a treat she doesnt care.

im not strong enough to hold the shep when im leading both of them i end up holding the lead in my right hand so it goes behind my legs and shes on the left then i sort of sit on the lead and put my whole weight against her!

Haltis are a bit like a halter. The lead attaches the the ring under teh muzzle. I have 2 st bernards and when they are wearing the haltis i can hold both of them in one hand.
Will see if i can find a piccie for you

just brougth one and walked her home in it. wow!!!
i got dragged to the shops and she walked by my side home!! what a result! now just to test them out together

Seriousley they are FANTASTIC - i really dont know what i would have done without mine!!!!!!!!!!!!
