Do You use a neck cover on your horses with a fully clipped neck?

Do you use rugs with a neck covers on your horse?

Just pondering really, need to order a new heavy weight turnout, usually I get a neck cover on my turnout rugs but use standard neck Stable rugs. Neck covers always seem to look slightly restricting though so I'm not sure what to go for!
 
Gerry wears his Rambo TO at night and that has a neck. Suppose it depends on the build of the horse but it doesn't look restrictive.

Off topic but I love your sig! Tell me thats real and not photoshopped?
 
i have turnouts with necks but my stable rugs are standard necks but i do have an under rug with a neck.

However my horse is living in her TO with a neck as it is the warmest rug i have at the moment and i dont like the thought of putting a cold rug on when she is nice and warm underneath the one she has on.

It is a fal pro though so is breathable
 
Full neck on both his Turnout and Stable rugs. I have some rugs with standard necks but I'm planning on buying him a fleece with a neck to wear underneath them. :)
 
I should also add that full neck rugs are a godsend with grey and roan horses. (I have one of each colour...) What about a rug with a decent detachable neck (not the sort that flap up and make a gap when their head is down grazing?
 
It depends on the temperature with Genie, all necks on her rugs are separate. I've only attached the neck to her stable rug these past few nights, but generally the necks stay on her turnout rugs. Mud + HUGE mane = hell.
 
I don't have any stable rugs other than a couple of old tatty ones they wear under their turnouts if it's very cold (although they've been warm enough without them all week so that's very rare!). The boys just have Fal turnout rugs that they wear inside and out and thermatex rugs for travelling and looking smart. Winter turnouts all have integral necks, lightweights are a mixture of all options (standard, half,detachable and integral) in the 5 rugs they have between the two. Neck covers are a must with two greys - especially when one of them is Archie. His next one will have an integral neck though as he even manages to get mud in between the rug and neck cover. I despair of that horse.
 
i put other my ISH who is fully clipped has neck covers as she is a real wimp

my dales pony who is hunter clipped doesnt have a neck cover her mane is pleanty of protection lol
 
I TRUELY DOUBT WHETHER Bob the not a cob gives a flying ******* about neck warmers Up to his armpits in hay,Thick rugs ,water and buckets of feed . He isnt planning on leaving till the summer.:D
