those of you with maxi cobs that jump...

They are not eligible (I dont htink) for working cob classes as they are too big for "show cob" status.

However, would you enter them in a working hunter class if they jump well enough etc? or would this be an unacceptable class for them to be entered in?

I am not aware of any working maxi cob classes yet..... but I may be wrong.

I am only asking as I currently ride a maxi cob at home who loves jumping and so I was wondering if for fun we could enter this class? only at local level!
 
I had this problem with my mare who I've just sold. I took her to Flintham, rode in the Riding Horse/Working Cob class but she was technically to big (they didn't specify heights on the entry though!!!). She's 15.3hh. She adores jumping but I think a good working hunter looking cob will do well in the novice ring - but as ever luck of the drawer with who's judging and if they give a good ride. My mare got marked down with the last judge who rode her, but she preferred riding horse types and had made that quite clear!
 
Yes we do! We do normal workers at riding club level. But the trailblazers working cob has no height restriction so off you go! Depends on what level you want to compete at, but there are now affiliated showing working cob classes for maxi cobs.

Gleeful - ahhh thanks thats answered my next question which was if there were specific working maxi cob classes!!!

Shame its affiliated as he is not my horse so we only do unaffiliated stuff, but hey at least we can try to "blend" into the others!

But its also nice as I have a certain soft spot for maxi cobs so its nice to know that they can stay on the cards for my horse search as I can do all the sorts of classes I enjoy on them!

Bex - don't you hate when judges make it blatently obvious they dont like ur "sort" of horse!!! its like GAH! its meant to be relatively unemotive..................... but ho hum!!! you know ur horse rocks!
