Were you asked to sign a disclamier so the yard has no responcibility for accedents that happen on the yard?
I was just wondering where would we stand with our insurance as my good friend who is a solictor said it would be void as we are acepting fault by siging the form??

After what happened to us the weekend i am worried about this also if it was the fencing at the yard that caused the injury which its almost certain it was, where do we stand?

Any views advice.

Your friend is perfectly correct.

Your yard owner is naive if they think that this will protect them from a claim - it won't.

While your horse is in their care or on their premises they are responsible whatever they make you sign.

The land owner is by law responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the fencing to ensure it is as safe as possible. Neglegence of the land owner needs to be proven to claim successfully.

I have been on several livery yards over the last 5 years and I have never been asked to sign such a disclaimer. Nice try on the part of the yard, but I doubt that in law, they can wriggle out of their 'duty of care' that easily

I have signed nothing? But when I ride at local stables they get me to sign everytime I ride, stating horse riding is dangerous sport etc....
