Those who are graced with god gift..

Haha!! Thanks for the offer  .. Ok it seems the shock absorbers have the lead so far!! Does anyone know where you can get them?

Thanks AmyMay - I will have a look in M&S over the weekend!

I got mine off ebay, new but described as being slightly yellow, hence why it was around a fiver. I thought 'no one's going to see it, so what?' and I'm damned if I can see any yellowing at all. Well chuffed! So have a good hunt round and you should get a bargain, especially with crimbo offers and such going on or if you can wait for the sales?

Most department stores sell them as do sport shops.

Thats it... One shock absorber bra ordered and in the post!! ... Why didnt I think of this years ago?!

I'm a 34G and I use shockabsorber, I got them from the NEXT website. I think they are about £30 but most defiantly worth they money if they stop me from getting eye when I ride.

Shock absorbers are OK(ish) but as others have said for really big or premenstrual boobs you need two bras. I favour a good sports bra and then a normal wired one on top (doesn't feel as bad as it sounds). Also, I haven't seen them for ages but M & S used to do 'secret support' vests which had built in bras. If you get these a size too small, over a sports bra you will not move!

PS got this tip from a friend who did a skipping challenge on TV against a boxer. Can't remember the name of the show, must've been 10 year ago. :D:D

I have a shock absorber that could do with being replaced :o

it's great for riding and I used it for sprinting and hurdling and long jump when I used to compete. On the underwire front I had this discussion the other day at a high risk safety meeting I am pretty sure BE recommend non underwired bras as there have been incidence of puncture wound, pneumathorax etc. in riding accidents caused by peoples bras!!! I had never even considered it before.
My shock absorber is a back size bigger than I am as well and was up until a month ago the best fitting snugest bar I owned despite being a few years old.

Just so you can see how well the Shockabsorbers hold in, here's my weightloss pic. I wear my shockabsorber either under my tshirts or on their own at training, and then to ride in. 2 pics on left I have it on, one on right I have normal bra on.

Can't reccomend them enough.

To be honest, I find that practically any well fitting bra does the job :) But for the special occasions (like jumping clinics for example) I use the shock absorber. Bravissimo is the place to go ;)

Ok Ive only got DD's not H's and a normal bra is agony  specially on my big moving friesian!

Haha RileyBoy - had someone offer me that service before, he couldnt keep up.....

I'm a 34G/H and I actually agree with Martlin. A GOOD, well fitted bra (not a plunge one) is pretty much fine for hacking and pottering about.

However, when I am doing something silly like going jumping or having a lesson I wear a shockabsorber one. Mostly to stop my straps falling down though! :)

Aww, fanks, I was starting to think I'm weird or summit :D I'm not so proud owner of a pair of, ahem, boobs in a size 34F/G and really, honestly, good quality, well fitted bra of any sort (apart from plunge, that's true ;)) does the job for flatwork just fine.

Of very inconvenient breasts!! Having a dressage lesson on my mare yesterday was hellish! And i have decided that i need a new over the shoulder boulder holder for dressage! Can anyone recommend a good make/brand of sports bras that don’t mean that after an hour’s intense schooling you get two black eyes?

Walnut whips and coffee on offer.. :)

Having unsuccessfully tried every "sports" bra on god's earth and found them all lacking, I was persuaded to try a "Doreen" Bra made by Triumph. Now, it isn't a bra to be run over in or to wear when seducing a new boyfriend but it does the job very well for riding purposes. It has a deep back and a high front and really gives support and keeps you where you want to be and stops the wobble. An added advantage is that it gives you a nice shape under your jacket unlike the bust flatteners that are marketted at us.

The sizing comes out a bit odd so it's wise to buy your first one where you can try it on or else buy it mail order. I tend to need a larger "Doreen" than my normal underwired "fashion" bra both in size and cup size. They go up to very full cup sizes (JJ, I think)as well as "back" sizes.

(Incidentally, I disagree with the lady who suggested underwires. They could be dangerous in a fall and in general the coverage with underwired styles is inadequate for our needs)
