How much grazing do you have?

Just checking I am being fair on my liveries before I bring in an extra one!

Thank you

At the moment about an acre individual paddock per horse. When she moves, its seperate winter and summer grazing, so decent sized paddocks for winter (for them to trash if they so wish!) and then "new" summer paddocks at about 3/4 acre.

we have specific winter grazing, which is obviously smaller than our gorgeous summer turnout, but we can turn out everyday, but its only a acre per field, and we have 3 on that for winter grazing. but in summer we have 2 acres for 3 horses and always have grass. what are you thinking of offering?

Thanks, that's very useful. We are currently on winter paddocks which are 2 acres each and 2 horses in each paddock. I was thinking of putting the new horse (which I know well and is very good with others) into a paddock with another 2, so there would be 3 on 2 acres over the winter. The land is pretty good and drains well.

Not sure exactly, 150 ish acres.
Horses - 20ish part stabled, then 40-50 out 24/7.
Split into 6 herds, grazing rotated, and some left ungrazed for haylage cut

I have 3 fields betweeen my 2 and a friends horse, total of just under 3 acres, we are on sandy soil, they are well drained, proberly maintained, fertilised etc. They are never out 24/7 and are on restricted grazing all summer (fatties!) and I still have 1/4 of one field that has not been grazed since spring, 1 field they were have only been on for about a month since May and plenty of grass cover still in what is our summer jumping paddock where 2 are currently grazing. We have to manage our own grazing and a few on the yard moan that I still have grass when their paddocks are bare but it is down to how you manage it throughout the year. I would have thought that would be fine for winter as long as you have additional grazing for the summer?

We have probably about 40 acres to about 30 horses, split into separate fields, some have more than others as it's not done particularly evenly.
We have 24/7 all year turnout, although our gateways are completely poached already but ho hum, if YO's ok with it and it saves me mucking out I'll not complain...

In total I think the yard has 18 acres and usually about 15 horses. All the fields get rotated so theres always plenty of grass. Most people have 2 paddocks each to use as they like. Everyone keeps alternating between their 2 but im saving one of mine for spring. YO has said that the people who look after their fields will be the first ones to move into the spring paddocks. This makes me sound like such a suck up which I suppose I am
