Those who use breastgirths

As in the ones that attach to the girth and go straight round the chest. How do you attach to the girth? Do you put it round the whole girth above the saddlecloth strap or round the front or back strap of the girth (ie where it splits in 2)?

Think I did it round the whole of the girth when I had one, as the straps were a bit long
