Do you clean your riding hat/helmet on the inside?

After shelling out £200 on a GPA some years ago and never cleaning it, I replaced it with a ProTector which is bathed often!!!! I just use the deoderiser and hat cleaner (actually if you use the shoe deoderiser from the supermarket its cheaper!)

I know i have cleaned mine, as i have an opened and used hat de-ponger cleaner thing in the cupboard - however I couldnt tell you when I used it last - so must have been a fair while ago!

I think it depends on how sweaty your head is and how clean your hair is. Some people just don't sweat on their heads. I know I don't as my hair is always bone dry even though I could be quite sweaty down the centre of my back. Therefore my hat never smells or gets at all damp. However, a couple of my liveries make their hats soaking wet and have to deodourise them regularly. It all depends on where you sweat.

I vote never, I seem to have to replace them before they get too minging  :D The joys of working with youngsters...

I used to replace mine quite often too when doing lots of youngsters
These days life is a bit more serene so hat needs cleaning instead.....

Beats the 'old days' of steaming the velvet on my old beagler tho :)

I was told by someone on here to scrub mine with baby shampoo with a toothbrush. Worked quite well to clean the hat bandy bit on the inside. It was giving me spots :o
