If you do dressage what do you do with all the hair? Attempt to control it or go au naturale? Just wondering if I should be considering some sort of mane plait or if I should just go for breed appropriate turnout as per showing rules and just have huge hair?

:)

I have a full on traddy cob that i'm training toward elementary ATM(he'll probably go medium before his short legs hamper his style!) and I personally am of the belief that they look fab in the dressage ring with 4 ft of mane flowing and feathers clean and flicking.., and I get good comments from judges too, we're planning on doing a quadrille next year with 2 traditionals and 2 'proper horses' probably with a gypsy wedding theme... Embrace the hair-- or get a non hairy horse!!

I have a friesian and he goes natural - but I've just learnt how to do a Spanish plait - unfortunately it only stays in for 20-30min!

This was my boy last November at our first dressage:

With Blitz - embrace the hair!

Brilliant, thanks guys - au natural it is! That saves me a challange. We'll just embrace the hair and hope the judge is so wowed by our flowing locks they wont notice how actually we are going like a constipated camel!
