It is for my 16.2hh underweight full TB lad. My 2 TB have Shires &amp; Amigo and they fit very well.

I do not want to be spending £160 on a Rambo - although would love one of these!
............ So was looking at either the Premier Equine Storm Buster - 450g integrated neck - are these any good and how do they fit fine TBs?

OR the Shires Typhoon Combo (integrated neck) - but these are only 350g. Which is warm- but he is underweight and seems to feel the cold </font>

I have Shires on my full TB and it fits really nicely, has stayed waterproof and worn well. They do a 400g full combo for just over £100...
 
I recently bought the detachable neck 450g for my fine TB - the fit is lovely, it is a deep rug which really wraps up around her. I don't think there is much warmer on the market!

I also can't stand detachable necks, most rugs now have these, I hunted high &amp; low for a neck &amp; bought the Mark Todd heavyweight turnout.

Haven't actually used it yet as still in medium weight but tried it on &amp; it fitted well.

I have a horseware rhino with a full neck which is not that expensive - not much more than the PE ones I don't think? I can highly recommend it - although not sure of its filling?

I have a 200g Premier rug on my TB and the fit is lovely, the rug is nice and deep and it doesn't slip or rub one bit, in my eye they are a better fit than some of the Rambo's. I would say it will be money well spent........
 
I have a winter buster for my TB and its amazing. It has a detachable neck BUT hasn't rubbed his mane at all. I actually found with my rambo with built in neck that that rubbed him and the detachable ones don't. Don't think it makes any difference to be honest.

Winterbuster so warm and breathable and just brilliant.
 
I have PEI Trio on my TB mare and it's lovely, i know you dont want detacable neck but if the storm buster is anything like this one then you wont be dissapointed.
 
Hi, I thought you might like to know, we Had a skinny TB and fed him simple system and it has really helped, he looks great and it has no cereals in it so great for keeping energy stable. we use weatherbeeta rugs for him and have found them to be brilliant and very waterproof. good luck with your TB kx

PE all the way for me also. My neddie has a huge range of them but all with detachable necks but they do the 450 gm stormbuster with an integrated neck and that is great also if you can afford the Trio i would go for that what a fab rug . My TB is flat bred and lives out 24/7 unless its really wet and cold - some times i leave a cooler type rug underneath the 300 gm and sometimes i leave him with an underneck rug comfort zone type if its really cold and he is very well fit and happy and he is blanket clipped in full work .
Fitting wise i think they are spot on and mine is a fine type also.
I believe these rugs are made in the same factory as Horseware rugs .

I have a 16hh MW Tb mare and bought her the PE 450g one (Stormbuster?) with the detachable neck.
It fits her beautifully, and the depth means she keeps much warmer. The detachable neck is well designed with two long velcro strips, so the seal is pretty good, and I didn't have problems with it rubbing (although no rugs seem to rub her anyway).
She likes it very much - the only negative comment is that the tailflap is quite small, which allows draughts, and the fillet strap has the effect of dung-catching, then tipping down back legs, so I replaced mine with baler twine (I'm classy).

I always use Weatherbeeeta rugs on my TB's. have found them to be an excellent fit every time. As they are not too expensive, I am always happy to replace them every few years... as I found it false economy to keep cleaning/repairing rugs. The whole range fits well, and is excellent value for money. Worth a look IMO.

No, no leg straps, nor attachments for them, just a fillet strap, adjustable in length.
They are a different shape to Horseware rugs - deeper, and the neck part covers the horse more effectively.
