Those with Horses living out...

Mine were in LW from January mainly because two are on the round side and one is a youngster who only has a rug on to prevent rainscald. These last couple of weeks they have not had rugs on at all (they are out 24/7) BUT I have had to start putting my Snuggy rugs sweet itch body on my fat ginger quarter horse - he itches his belly - and I recognised the signs. I felt mean putting it on because he hasn't dropped all of his coat yet and it has been so warm - but he doesn't do his back any good - chiropractor out Monday to check him but I have to do my bit too - by rugging him!

Mine have been naked for about 4 weeks now. They run away if they see me coming with a rug... lol so have got the hint :) one has a blanket clip, one a trace and one unclipped youngster...

My boys went out 24/7 a week ago. Last week, they were naked everyday but wore MW rugs at night because it has still been quite cold at night here and we had a couple of frosts last week. Our two little ponies who live out 24/7 all year round have both been naked too, one is naked all the time now but the old one wears a MW rug at night.

Having said that, have all had rugs on this weekend because it's not been very warm.
