.......................what rugs are yours in at the moment?

Zoomy had a high trace last year and was out in a medium weight even in the coldest weather as she is an exceptionally hot horse!

She was really, really sweaty when worked hard so this year it is all coming off except half her face and her legs. I am doing it on Friday evening and have lots of rugs to experiment with but I don't want to come down and find her freezing her hooves off on Saturday morning!

Thanks

Some winters I have hunter clipped one of mine and kept her out, although she isn't atm, as I am too broken to ride.

However, if she were right now, I would be putting her MW/200gm rambo on her

Mines a wimp. Shes living in, but if she was out, she'd have her HW full neck and something underneath for night time.

As it is, she goes out for the day, and is probably at the gate as we speak, just on the off chance someone might rescue her.

Charlie and Millie are still out 24/7 but will probably start coming in during the night at the weekend.

Millie (Section A) is in a Medium (200g) Turnout with neck and Charlie (TB) is in either a Medium (200g) or Heavy (300g) with neck but I can't tell because the duo liner hasn't got a weight on it. Both of them seem to be snug but not too warm.

mine was clipped last night (everything but legs and half head came off) shes out in a high neck med weight rug now day and night (although she comes in every day for about 4 hours when she'll just get a thin fleece on). will keep her in this until it starts getting really cold. then she'll come in at night - trying to hold off for as long as possible!

I must have different weather here & very hot blooded horses, my Hunter clipped WB is out without a rug on during the day atm & he's really happy. He was miserable & itchy in the rug & it's only a 40grm lightweight Fal but he was just far to hot.

He is in during the night & he wears the 40grm fal lightweight i would say he's just about right overnight atm in the fal. He wouldnt thank me for anything heavier atm.

Hmmmm......quite a variety!!

Ok......I think I'll put her mediumweight full neck on overnight since the temp really drops when it's clear, but just put her fleece with a no-fill on during the day.

Thanks for the input guys

Teddy is fully clipped he has his MW high neck on... he is really warm under it... when it gets colder he will have a full neck hw Premier Equine rug he is out 24/7 as u know most of ours if clipped have full or trace.

I clipped my connie on Monday. Trace clip, but with all his neck off and 1/2 face. He is in a 100g standard TO over night and ruggless during the day - unless its raining when he has a rain sheet on.

MW with a LW on top - hunter clipped 10d ago, already gone fluffy again! it's meant to be 5 degrees tomorrow night though and thinking back to earlier this yr when it was that cold coming out of winter he was def in a HW full neck, so might put the HW on tomorrow.

mine are fully clipped, legs and all, and are still in rain sheets,(no fill) out 24/7 bar working! and still hot in the day if the sun puffs up!! they have been cliped twice now! all naked today as so nice!!!!! if i showed them a MW or a plus neck i think they would sweat in horror!!¬ wont be in those weights til mid to end of nov. temperatures are varying betw 0 and 20 at moment. They do not shrink in the rain, nor shrivel in temps below 5!!
