Those with IW 505 trailers – tyre pressure?

Just wondering what others have their tyre pressure set to?

The guideline on the trailer says 65 psi. I asked a friend who is much more mechanically minded than me (and has experience towing trailers etc) and they advised that was too high especially for a laden trailer so I always had mine round about 52 to 55 although that the moment there are down to about 48/49 but I *think* that will just be the affect of the cooler temperatures. Other than one instance of an exploding tyre last year I’ve never had an issue

I just wanted to check what others have their set to?

the info thing inside my jockey door on my 505 says 55psi, which is what I always set mine to.

It will say on the tyre wall what the psi should be...Also need to be aware that some people do not use "proper" trailer tyres and use car tyres instead as they are cheaper and car tyres will have a lower psi..You will know if they are trailer tyres as the will have LT on the tyre wall..

Make sure that the tyres fitted are proper trailer tyres.
