Are there any joins on yours???

I have just bought one on ebay and its got about 3 joins on it..... I am worried they will cause pressure points and make merlin sore

I have got a couple of very old Pure New Wool ones and they only have one seam ..... and that's enough as I spend ages ensuring that it faces out

Just bought one on e-bay as well yesterday, but don't like it much. For a start it was too small because of the sheepskin but seller would not exchange or refund because I had cut off the tags (I still have them, just not attached to the girth with the right little plastic thingey), then in desperation I managed to get it on but it has so much sheepskin above the buckle it was all over the place and covered the bit my leg was on (this is on a dressage saddle!), and yes it has bits joined up. All for £48.50 plus P&P! Not impressed!

Now I feel even more of a mug...

I don't think so unless he is horribly sensitive. I would give it a go, but just keep an eye on it and feel the area carefully every day.

I'm not too surprised to be honest, when our company was originally looking at making sheepskin Numnahs we bought a number of them and took them apart. Pretty much all of them were made of lots of different bits sewn together. The worst was a half numnah which was made of 13 different bits!

I got a Griffin Merino one for about £25, its lovely - only one join along the length of it, so just make sure that's on the outside when I tack up. I'd send yours back

Send it back, there should only be one join and that should be the seam....

Ditto that, it must be really cheap made if they are using 'scraps' to make up the sleeve. I got mine from km elite website and it was much more expensive, lovely sheepskin with only one joint which you can hardly feel. I always have it in the middle of the outside of the girth so there is no way it can end up between horse and girth, just wouldn't risk the damage it could do in a very short span of time.

I have a stephens one and there are no seams on the "horse" side as there are velcro fastenings on the outside - so the seams are underneath those. The Stephens ones are a long way from cheap but are worth it for the sensitive neddy in your life!
