..........appendicitis!

No wonder she felt so grotty the other night! Good job the Baggage did take care of her so well then, carefully carrying her round like a riding school plod! (She obviously knew she really was ill, bless her!)
We're just waiting to see which it'll go now - doctor said she can ride in school under close supervision if she feels up to it but no hacking out, in case it suddenly takes a turn for the worse!

MD is not a happy bunny!

She's off school 'til Monday, they will decide then I think!
I'm not too hopeful of it settling down & 'going away', as she was up half the night in tears! We're all watching her like a hawk at the moment!

Hope she is better soon - when I was her age I had rumbling appendicitis - very painful. Lasted about 6 months but thank goodness has never returned.

Good little BB for looking after her.

Tell her Chancer is ready for her when she is better and in Essex.

He was a very good boy last night - another little milestone. For the first time when I was the only person on the yard, (up to now have always had some on foot in the school and holding him to be mounted) I decided to progress to mounting alone. Took only two attempts - he has to stand still and straight and not move. I got on him and did two circuits of the school - just at a walk with a couple of turns - big grin from both of us.

These tiny things may seem stupid - just mounting your horse, but for me they seem major.

Thanks all!

MD's sister has kindly volunteered to ride the Baggage if needs be, as she can't be left more than a day or so, or she'll be back in the starvation paddock where she usually spends the summer! (The pony that is, not the sister!

Oh bloody hell! Please send MD my best and some hugs, hope it doesn't turn nasty for her. And even bigger hugs to BB, who was obviously very tuned into MD and so carried her round safely.

Good job BB was so clued up! She definitely knew, no question about it! Hurray for kind, sensible ponies!

here here,my old pony was a bugger at times but he was honest and sensible
thats how clever and intune they are with there owner/rider some of them are the most loveable 4 legged friends.
they sense things just like we do if not more !

how many does the starvation paddock hold ? !!!!! lol

oooh.... I remember the pain, would be best if they operated to be honest, as there is nothing worse than a grumbling appendix. What rotton timeing.

best wishes from me and mine

Doctor assured me they make fairly swift decisions these days about whether to hoik it out or not, instead of leaving it to drag on for weeks & weeks like they used to do whern I was a kid!

At least we've got the worst of the spring grass out of the way, be a shame to have to take BB out of her field now when she's done so well so far!
(Laminitic but able to be out with her friends, as she's being ridden pretty hard & keeping - for her anyway - reasonably slim & fit!)

OMG bex, you are so clever! Of course, what a good idea!
I keep forgetting she will just bomb about, the others just stand around looking bored stupid if you turn them loose or if you 'loose school' them, trot round, jump all the jumps once, then stand looking at you hopefully as if to say 'Is that enough, can I come out now?'

Poor MD, just as she and BB were getting it together. Hope it either goes away or they make the decision quickly to whip it out, tho suppose that will mean time off riding after the op. Sweet that BB looked after her .
