Went up to field this morning and only 2 horses so ran round in work clothes getting very muddy to make sure he wasnt down or stuck. Still couldnt see him so was starting to panic now. Started to run down our very muddy track and saw another livery shouting had she seen blue he has gone. she said no so i really started to panic.

Got to stable and there he was. No one seems to no who put him in or what happened but I was upset and relieved. I wish they had text me as I really thought he was gone. He has ransacked the hay by all accounts. YO said typical no one seems to no anything but yet again he has jumped the 5 bar gate. How can I keep him in!!

Anyway got to work very wet muddy and smelly. Im now wearing a pair of chainsaw trousers and a work t shirt as its all I could find

I know exactly how you feel...my pony used to escape from her field...we only used to know she had done this when a farmer or gamekeeper would call us letting us know a small spotty pony was either in with his sheep or had got into the pheasant pens 5 miles from her field!! this would normally be about 5 am too!!
In the end I got used to turning up at the field and finding she had either jumped the fence or rolled underneath it, treking the fields and woods for miles until I found her being held by a walker with a dog lead....!!

Its now the other end of the scale where I now worry, due to her age, if she doesnt come to me she will be laying dead in the field somewhere...usually when im dressed up to go out or going to work she would play this game...only for me to find her at the back of the field shelter asleep or down in the brambles where I couldnt see her...
Arent horses/ponies fun!!!

we once got a phone call from our neighbours to say the horses were on the road at about 5am... so my dad rushed out in his pj's, and me, my sister and my mum pulled jeans and a jumper on then went out with head collars (which dad had forgotten!) to find 2 on the road at the end of the drive, looking a bit sheepish, one trotting up to the next farm to eat their silage, and one the wrong side of another neighbours gate... with no footprints as to how he got there!! very odd!

Its a horrible feeling isnt it. It happened to me in the summer, fence came down and YO put the escaped horses back in field and fixed fence but I did not know this. Only he didnt realise mine had escaped too (there are about 40 horses in the field). Went to get him and counldnt find him. Searched all the ditches and ponds and all our other fields and couldnt find him. 2 hours and 10 helpers later we found him down a dirt track which backs onto our field.

It is the worst feeling I have ever experienced and it made me realise just how much I really loved my horse.
