Today at work, the YO called me into the office for a word about Scooby. She said not to worry, that it was nothing bad - so naturally I panicked.

Then she said that he's not been as good an investment for the riding school as she'd hoped, and he was costing her more to keep than he was earning her... and that she'd had an offer from someone wanting to buy him. I was

but then she told me who wanted to buy him, and it's a lovely couple who come for riding lessons here every week, and they will still be keeping him here on livery and BEST OF ALL they're still going to loan him to me!

They both work full time so they'll only be around on weekends, so he'll still be mine most of the time.

Thank god I can still loan him... I was sooo worried I was going to lose my pony!

Thanks everyone.

I think it's actually going to work out really well for both of us - for one thing, the couple who want to buy him are planning to get him a new saddle, which is VERY welcome because his old one is really not fitting very well now he's lost weight!

It might be a bit weird not being quite so much like his "owner" - when I loaned him from the riding school he was basically mine, but now he'll have an excited new owner on the scene which may take some getting used to. It'll all be good though, I'm sure.

It sounds like it could be ideal. Are they novices? In which case, they will probably be grateful for your help and professional riding though the week. They are getting a lot as well! Fingers crossed it works out.
