bringing daughters horse back into work after 6 weeks off, anticipating fireworks hired a school, lunged her lightly but as good as gold.
next day hacked out good as gold .
today different story -total madam from start to finish, spooky, strong and looking for an excuse to prat. bring on spring -please.

He He - Why do they do that to us? My boy is exactly the same, lovely for 2 rides best horse ever, then come the 3rd maniac....

Ditto - bring on the spring

Me too - I replied to someone else's post the other day as follows -

"Yep - mine has been full of beans this week but its been getting worse rather than better! I rode her for the first time since november last tuesday - went in the school and she was good as gold. Wed and Thurs went for short hacks with a friend - good as gold. Friday hacked alone - good as gold. Sat - hacked with friend again and she took a dislike to YO tractor (which she sees every day) and we bounced sideways down the track on the way home. Yesterday we hacked out again and she heard some kids and dogs coming and started bouncing and head tossing. Today i was riding on my own so thought I'd play safe and go in the school. All went well until the YO came past on the tractor and that was her off again!
I think they think spring is here. I am wondering if it's because they've been getting some grass this week for the first time since november. It definitely feels feed related.

Glad to hear others are in the same boat - makes me feel a bit better. Hold on tight everyone and don't be ashamed to grab some mane!"

Mine does that!!!!

Good as gold for 3 or 4 sessions, then the next will try to take me on and tell me he's boss- pretty much tries to kill us lol!!!

When I win he sort of says 'oh all right then' and then we're back to be a superstar the little git :-D

mine cant be grass related ,her field is a swamp but maybe spring is in the air.
yes we had it all. tail swishing ,head tossing ,jogging . embarrasing really.

Annoying but I like it when they show a little "excitment", especially if they've been on box rest. Yes its not great, but at last she is in work now!

I love it when Horlicks is being "Horlicks" and not the boring RS horse. I get so much more out of her when she is on her toes!

Just think of it as 66% success rate! The more you do, the better the odds. Mine was absolutely full of beans today, bouncing, jogging, spooking. After a "sedate" hack she returned really sweated up like she'd done the Grand National. But it's rare that she's a complete wazzock to I liken it to around 99% success rate. Pretty good going really.
