Thought Katie Price was a horse lover !! look what she is selling

I don't wear any animal skin etc. But to me if you do, it shouldn't make any difference if it's a pig, cow or pony. They are all living beings. Just because it's thought of as a pet.

ETA In other words, I don't care if she is wearing, cow or horse, eats cow or dog. It's all the same to me. I dislike it all anyhow.

I thought pony skin just referred to the pattern? Probably wrong though as I'm no fashionista.

Agree with sarah sum1 though. I do eat meat and wear leather I'm afraid but still... why should horses be special compared to cows?

I don't think it is actually real pony skin but it could be. The detail actually reads "pony skin style" so i would imagine it is more like to be lookalike pony skin material. I could be totally wrong and it could be real but there was a stage/fashion of a lot of 'pony skin' accessories that were not made from pony at all, it was just normal cow hide.

However, as sarah sum said, why is it any different to cow skin?

I agree it does not matter which animal it comes from but if you read the thread about native ponies from this country being shipped abroad for their skins you might change your mind when you realise the conditions they are subjected too.

I don't think it is actual horse skin - the description says "SOFT PONYSKIN STYLE MATERIAL IN BLACK AND WHITE ANIMAL PRINT"

The word 'style' is what makes me think it is not actual pony.

I have read it don't worry :) Shocking stuff. I don't know if they're nicer to cows or not? I don't think even coloured hill ponies look like that handbag though :D

does the money from these sales go to charity as I would imagine most of this she gets for free - defo the pauls boutique stuff

ps that handbags not real pony skin

Looking at the markings it may not be pony skin but i dont know what animal it has come from? how ever it seems that there are such things as real pony skin bags and shoes etc which untill today I didnt know.

that is awful, also if yoou look at what else she has for sale the is some 10-12 and a 12-14 which katie is not that size most is 8 or 10 but, i dont thik this is all katies if any of katie's things as she is not a 14. but apart from that what the hell pony skin no matter who it is, should not be aloud.

Personally the issue for me is the treatment of the live animal not what happens to the corpse.

A while ago there was a lot of media coverage of cats being bred for their pelts.
I believe the pelts were made into fur lined gloves, available in any high street store
I am unhappy with animals being bread soley for thier pelt.

If animals are used in the food chain either for human consuption or pet food then I believe it is wrong not to use every part of the animal, horns, hooves, skin, bone, flesh and offal.

The important thing is the humane treatment of the animal, horses and ponies included, right up to the moment of death.

By exporting animals live, to other places is in my view wrong. There should be no live exportation at all. Apart from the obvious welfare of animals, it is stupidly uneconomic, when many times the weight can be moved frozen

The New Zealand lamb trade would not exist if it relied on live exports.

I think everyone who is throwing a hissy fit about using animal skin or even eating animals, of whatever kind, should think what the animal would say.

If you were to ask any animal "if you could be alive and well kept for a period of time, even if you are humanely killed before you would naturally die, would you take whatever period of life you were given". The answer would clearly always be a yes. The instinct to live is so strong that no animal would turn down the chance to live a decent quality life, however short.

By all means get passionate (and DO SOMETHING other than whinging) about inhumane treatment but for goodness sake what on earth does it matter if a bag is made of the skin of a dead pony?

It makes me laugh when veggies imagine that the countryside would be full of sheep and pretty little spring lambs if no-one ate meat. Of course it wouldn't, they are only alive in the first place because people eat them.

While I would not wear fur, even a Russian Mink would probably choose a short period of life and a quick knock on the head before being turned into a fur coat, rather than no life at all.

I couldn't have put it better.

OMG, can the girl do anything without someone backstabbing her, you can tell there is snow on the ground and there is little to be done, but c'mon is this pick on the pricey or the h&h forum .

My comments on the clothes, disgusting - size 8/10 only , shame on her, get some good old 14/16's in there and useful bags lol, c'mon leave the girl in peace, she gets it from all angles.
