Evening all!
I have no idea why it has taken me so long to join the forum when I am forever reading posts! Anyway before I start waffling on...
Anyone with Animal Friends Equine Insurance have any info/advice/warnings about the company as a whole e.g. payouts?! I have been warned away from E&L and horse-insurance.co.uk, I am taking heed to that and not touching with a barge pole but I am now in a toss up between Petplan who I know have a great reputation or Animal Friends who are around £7 cheaper a month.
I know every horse is different and its dependant on past info etc, but we are going in with a clean bill of health (touch wood), would just like to know general thoughts.
My parents insure their dogs with Animal Friends and haven't had any issues but not sure about the equine... Help! :D

I am with animal friends they are cheaper than quite a few others, but haven't had to deal with them yet thankfully so not much help!:/

I'm with Animal Friends for my 2 dogs, as they donate a percentage to animal charities. So far, touch wood, not had to claim. E&L wouldn't touch with a very, very long barge pole. My friend is with Pet plan and recently lost her horse. She had heart failure. Originally, Pet plan were insisting she have a post mortem to prove heart failure, till her vet rang them and had a long chat with PP's vet, explaining that any horse being shot ultimately dies of heart failure. I think they are now paying up, but it caused some very unnecessary heartache at a very difficult time.
