Thoughts on the HOYS judging rule change?

As the title suggests, what is the general consensus on the announcement of judges not being announced until the morning of the final at HOYS?

Do we think it will be the shake up that is badly needed in the showing world currently?

I am wondering as to how they will be able to police conflicts of interest with such short notice (although I am not sure how much policing goes on anyway 🤭)

Anyone who has a conflict of interest is to email. I imagine they'll then try to work the judges round classes that have no connections, but that's got to be a logistical nightmare.
Also not sure about M&Ms being judged by non panel judges, and the judges who spend their lives & money with the breed societies & panels not being included.

i think it’s a step in the right direction, but it sounds like a logistics nightmare!

i don’t envy anyone having to rearrange judges to avoid conflicts🤣 still relying on an awful lot of honesty that many unfortunately don’t have, but hopefully there’s less chance for a conflict of interest and therefore less opportunity for people to fail to declare one.

HOYS has always used judges who aren't necessarily panel judges. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind it.
