He's stunning love him, and not only will you be able to do Welsh classes, M&M, etc with him but you can do palomino classes and join the British Palomino Society, he'll do VERY well.

But being more pragmatic and sensible - what would you do with him if he didn't make the height?

With great difficulty
The sensible side of me is running through the options though. In hand showing, backing, turning away then either have me lose a few stone, sell or find a rider to do ridden classes with. All dependent on temprement, breeding, conformation, etc.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!!
Sorry, he looks totally gorgeous.... but just remember the moral of our story - we have one that is only 1/2 Welsh D and similar gorgeousness as a baby, very similar colouring and just so cute and appealing and fluffy and moves beautifully....
He looks lovely, agree that he will probably go darker as he ages, theres no obvious confirmation faults that I noticed and he looks very bold and inquisitive which is always good
If that is you in the pics with him, then he will easily be able to carry out when he matures! These ponies are meant to be able to take quite a lot of weight, and regularly are shown with men on board that are miles bigger than you!
But having a foal is a really time consuming business - and by the time he is old enough to ride, you will have spent a fortune (and they have a really nasty habit of getting themselves into all sorts of trouble and hurting themselves) - would you be better buying something a little older?
Have to say he is incredibly cute and would be very hard to resist!
TBH £4k is way too much. I was going to purchase a dun Welsh D colt 6 months old, but missed out as his owner decided to retain him. He was Champion at the Royal Show the next year!!!!!!! He was by a very well known sire and his dam has excellent breeding too. She only wanted £3,000!
I don't know his lineage but his Sire is apparently a very well known stallion from Durham.
If anyone else is interested, he's for sale!

Hell - you can have Ivy for that and she's ready to be broken!!!!
Actually, if you were interested in a Welsh D cross youngster, I know a breeder... Ivys dad is actually called Clougha Cock Robin but he is by Llanarth Vulcan - and I'm pretty sure he was a very good stallion.
I think the youngsters the breeder has (they are actually pure bred welshies but the mares were rescues and have no papers, though the stallion is fully registered)
Think I have photies...
THis is Ivy's dad, national carriage driving horse,
And two of the foals that were born the year Ivy was born... (ie rising 3)
