Thoughts on this horse please.

ISH_Mad, I have been keeping my options open and obviously not many are for sale at this time of year but I havent kept my eyes open for the past year and haven't found anything at all. I don't have a huge amount of money to spend for buying, limit of about 3k maybe a bit more.
Just doesn't seem that I would be able to find something that isn't full of vices, crippled or crazy for that price at the moment.

I would travel a max of 2 hours to look at a horse I liked a lot.

Shiraz - She said "because we had to many horses and needed to sell one, we had more horses than stables hehe."

My honest opinion, over priced, numpty owners, possibly dealers, horse possibly has issues, or they have given it issues by using so many bloody bits and pieces of equipment on him.

You can pick up a nice young TB for much less!

they ARE dealers... lots of different horses comming and going plus they say

"Welcome to church house farm horse, We are a small family run business, who has a passion for bringing on young horse to be re-sold onto wonderful new homes. We hope we came provide you with the horse that you are looking for, many of the horses we recive, come with fantastic temperments, full passport, a wonderful character and are a pleasure to be around, please feel free to view our current horses for sale"

like the 'for many of the horses we recieve come with full passports...' I WOULD EXPECT SO! its illegal to sell a horse without one!!!

some dealers can be fab... some are not... these for me look like they are leaning towards the not so fab end...

although its not the horses fault hes owned by 'numpties' id just be sure you are certain of what you are taking on... i would treat this as a complete youngster that prob needs rebraking properly... be wary of the problems that may have been caused. I would also not pay this much for the horse that has no proven breeding, not comp records etc, also remember they will want to make a profit... i expect they paid alot less for him!

sorry to be frank but ive had some bad experiences with dodgy dealers!

As others have said - seeing the amount of tack, different bits etc on it, my thoughts would run as follows:

Why do they have these things on (and only in some pictures)? If the horse needs them then I would want to know why and if the horse doesn't then I would question their training methods and worry about the horse in the future - especially if they have retrained him from a racing home.

The horse looks sweet enough to be an allrounder sort, but I worry about the current home. Looking through the rest of her videos I see some horse management and training that I'm not overly impressed with. Just MHO though.

She calls it 'her horse' on all the vids, and going by what she says she hasnt had it two months.. so either she's bought to sell on, or theres a reason that after 2 months she doesnt want it anymore...?

Omg, how many gadgets has that poor horse got on! I would still go see him if you are interested, but be wary, insist on on seeing him more loosely without all the cr*p on! And ask why he needs it all?!! looks like he may be a sweetie though.

Personally he is too much money, but there again im tight!!!
The only way you are going to know,is by going to see him.
I was very lucky with my horse.I didnt pay no way near that much for him,but have been offered over double for him on several occasions, but he isnt going no where!!!

Judging by his musculature- he's not long out of racing. A month or two at the most. They prob bought him for about £700, which is what he is worth at the mo. He really is a sweet looking lad though.

P.S find out his racing name! Then we can look up his form on the racing post...it may show how long he's been out of racing for, how much he was bought for, and if there are long gaps in his racing career, then he most certainly woulve had some sort of injury!

I think he looks very sweet... I think what Christmas_Derby has said is pretty accurate, I do not think he has been with them that long out of a racing yard

But, he is pretty sane on that video of him walking down the road, and the fact someone is leading him would not bother me in the slightest as I suspect that is what stage Troy and I will be at when he first starts hacking out as a four year old. Those are narrow country tracks, and if there is someone who could go with me, then I would certainly ask them to help out!

If you have the time and the knowledge, I do think he is one you need to see in the flesh
