If he's truly everything as described in the ad, then he's a bargain! Can't see anything glaringly wrong but think he may be one that can't tell much from just the photos alone. Good luck and keep us posted.

Looks nice but it says he's just come over from ireland, which is fine but be wary as a lot of older horses that comer over from ireland can have some problems, its also from a dealer so for me it would be a no no.

In a couple of the photos it looks a bit long in the pastern - something I would never buy again after having a mare with very long pasterns and suspensory ligament injuries as a result. But it's hard to tell from photos as they're a split second in time. Go and look - it could be completely different in the flesh.

his heels look pretty low at the back to me?

but other than that he looks nice and very well priced. At the end of the day conformation aint everything anyway-depends what you want him for. Best of luck ;)

I am defo not a hoof expert, I did zoom in on back foot on the last photo (one without rider) as the near hind looked weird, massive clump of mud :)

I'd be interested to know what people thought of the two short video clips on the website.

do you think he looks unsound??

& great that its just mud :)

thanks for all the comments - keep them coming - not sure if I am just desperate for a new horse and not being a choosy as I started off as he is older than I wanted...........

I haven't watched the videos but did look at the various horses for sale on the website. As someone who sources quality, straight horses in Ireland I am struggling to see how anyone can sell horses which are completely genuine, vice free and without veterinary issues for prices of that type of price.

Good luck if you go to see him - he looks a bargain :)

From the pictures I though he was weak behind. From the walking video I thought there was a head raise suggesting something at the back, from the jumping video he drops to a sort of trot very quickly.

I'm no expert though so I'd suggest that you see if you can persuade others to have a look at the vids and don't part with any cash unless he is vetted by a vet of your choice. I don't know the dealers and can't make any comment on their stock. This is just what I noticed.

What exactly are you looking for?

Seemed to bury himself a little at the fence (though mine does that at little jumps), seemed sound if a wee bit short evenly tracking up and a bit stiff (looks more like a 16yo to me). To me it would depend on what you want him for, I wouldn't be looking at a competing career jumping if that is the height they are showing him at but depends how he feels when you sit on him. The vids are a bit short and show no trot :)

If it was me I would go and see him, if you like him and the feel of him defenately get him vetted.

Could be totally wrong, but don't you think they way the rider says "good boy" in the jumping video suggests that maybe that isn't the way he jumps every time because most people don't praise the horse that way every time they clear a jump. Perhaps he doesn't jump it that well every time?
I could be looking waaayy too far into it and trying to see things that aren't there but thought it might be worth saying.
Good luck :)

For the price, looks a good buy and worth looking at. I've been keeping an eye at things of that height and price for the last few months, and quite a few nice types are around. Not always an oil painting, not always the best confo, but decent honest types. If we hadn't decided to let my stepson and husband share a horse rather than replace his pony, I'd probably have a look at this myself as a gen pc/rc type..

OP let us know how you go on..

some of these reply's are quite funny, he looks like he deserves a loving home. I don't know the OP but i'm sure they will not want to be jumping up to fox and riding at olympia. He looks as if he would be perfect for low level stuff, he may be different in the flesh. But him getting close to a fence because of her riding and her shouting good boy, I would say is all pretty irrelevant to the horse.

He looks like he has massive hooves! Nice type, be aware at that age he might have had quite a hard working life but you'd expect any problems to have manifested themselves by now, so get him vetted thoroughly. You can buy horses so cheaply in Ireland right now, especially an older horse. I'd rather have a horse like him than an over-priced, weedy, spooky warmblood. Nice sort.

He has a brilliant name :D

But I too query the price- seems too good to be true. I can't judge on his movement/conformation or anything because I'm no expert. Still, good name...my beautiful little horse shares it :D

can't watch videos but from the pictures he looks to have a weak back , the price seems about right to me at the moment but get a five stage vetting its expensive but can save money and heartache so it's worth it.
Hope you like him when you see him.

Looks fine to me, just a normal, run of the mill horse, nothing special but no glaring faults. I haven't looked at the videos. Average price for the type and age.

I'm by far no expert but looks like a lovely sort. Obviously no amazing superstar just an honest, reliable allrounder. However, he seems a little cheap to me.

IMO he's certainly not cheap in the current market.
He's advertised as 13 and that means he's 14 this year honestly unless he's a perfect performer that's top whack at the moment.
