P.s I'm just looking at ads I'm not interested in this particular horse but fascinated by the video.

He's obviously jumping very hollow but not sure if that's his fault or not.

I think AA has answered lol

Well no, she hasn't.

Before I give my answer I would like to know why you picked out that advert from thousands and asked for comment on it. I've got my own ideas, but please go first.

ETA I see that you have now edited your post and said it's jumping hollow.

I just liked the look of the horse so clicked on the video. Wondered why the horse was jumping that way. Guess it's being restricted with its head but not sure why its being restricted.

Not here to argue. Perfectly honest question.

OK.

I'd be surprised if it didn't have quite serious back issues. Not only is it jumping hollow, but the back end is snatching up very unnaturally and the front end is plummeting into the floor on every landing.

Can I now ask what your ideas were, i.e why you thought i was asking? Just to clarify, I don't know the horse or rider or the place it is being jumped.

It’s impossible to make a judgement on how the horse actually jumps because the person riding it is socking it over every fence. I think you’ll struggle to find a horse who doesn’t jump hollow with its mouth being hauled out like that.
I agree but would love to know what happens on landing when the rider does give with their hands. Wondered if it would do one. It's almost as if the rider is scared to let go.

I'd like to see it under a diffferent rider to see if that made a difference - is the problem horse, rider, or both? Without a doubt there's a problem somewhere. That said it appears to be an incredibly honest horse, I doubt many would keep going like that.

I find it slightly alarming that the seller thinks this is a good video to put up, it wouldn't encourage me to look.

I’d like to see another video of a rider who actually was able to give their hands over a fence to comment! The horse looked keen and the rider was constantly holding it back. Couldn’t make a call without further videos to be honest, not the greatest advert for a jumper

Looks like the horse is strong and keen
Rider is not sufficiently balanced or using any technique other than her hands to contain him.
Not pretty. I'd like to see someone with some core strength and a more secure lower leg riding. I think it'd be a softer and more fluent round.

Young horse. Has previously jumped 120 but currently jumping 110 with young rider. So it hasn’t been bought on to sell, yet is now for sale despite being perfect.
🤔
Or, young rider is over horsed. The op could have posted the second video which is a nicer round of jumping, but instead chose to post first video which is an uncomfortable watch and the horse is undoubtedly uncomfortable also. If the horse is physically uncomfortable that is best left to a vet to decide at the point of purchase, the way the horse is looking through his bridle and locking onto to his fences despite his pilot not always being with him would suggest he is not physically unsound or in pain.

The op states they are not interested in buying or trying the horse being questioned, which is the right decision as the horse, based on the videos, is not a novice ride. Hopefully the op is not trying to ridicule the young rider or scupper the sale of the horse, who looks like very genuine forward thinking type.

OP is not a novice rider and this paragraph is completely unnecessary and inflammatory and seems calculated to cause upset.

Birker please don't respond to this provocation. You will raise your credit on the forum if you can make yourself ignore it as it deserves. There are plenty of people on the forum who post "what's going on here" threads about horse videos.

The advert is perplexing, the horse should be up for £10k more than is being asked for, something is not right.

Looking at the still photos and at the better video the horse and rider are far more in harmony. The bad video shows that something has gone wrong in the partnership and whether that is down to horse or rider no idea.

The second video is with a pro rider where the horse is currently for sale, presumably on sales livery since the phone no is the pro not a private person as the ad would suggest. I would be very cautious, especially if the current owner does not wish to discuss the horse and why they are selling after a short period of time for such a low sum in the current market. The ad states "Uncomplicated, would suit amateur" and " very straight forward round a course". For that price you'd expect someone who knows the horse to snap him up.
