i want to buy a changeable gullet saddle for my 4 year old, since he's obviously still developing having been backed only a few months, i think the changeable gullets might be the way forwards...

my OH has a wintec gp for one of the other horses and it seems ok, but anybody have any comments/thoughts/advice on the dressage range please?

Have had the Isabelle Werth for my 4 yo with changeable gullet. One of the most comfortable saddles i have ever ridden in. Would have one again for a young horse. Wonderful. I even converted my trainer & she has one for her youngster

Ditto this to the letter except 4yo is now a 5yo!

I love mine, although not on a youngster as can't get one to fit me and my baby, but Pip likes his wintec Pro dressage saddle, it has less padding, so can be used for jumping if needed comfortably

I've got the basic dressage Wintec one as I don't do a lot of dressage, but I really like it and use it whenever I'm doing flatwork. For a cheapie saddle I think they are really good

thanks for that everyone, no negatives there

i have so many saddles that dont fit anyone im putting them up for sale and 'consolidating them into one easy to manage saddle' lol

i have the bog standard dressage saddle, its ok for schooling in but the worst decisions i've made have involved taking it on hacks in order not to get my leather saddle covered in mud etc, i find it uncomfy and hard and generally not nice to ride in for longer than 45mins ish!

i usually use a heather moffett seat saver as ive a bony little butt and if i forget to change it onto whatever saddle im using im in agony lol

I quite like it and tbh have never really found it uncomfortable. The only problem I have is that I don't ride in it often enough and therefore have problems with the knee blocks... I just can't seem to get them right

I have the standard 500 and its ace. Use it for hacking, rc..everything really so my leather gp doesnt get ruined. Even jumped in it last week during a lesson (didnt realise i would be jumping) and it was fantastic, my seat was so secure I totally forgot i was in a dressage! Deffinatley recomend it.

I've had the wintec pro and used it on a vetran and a baby its not as deep as the isabell and I felt safe hacking and jumping small fences on it.

I also had the isabell for Len when I first got him, he's more established on the flat and I found it gave me a good basic position I have noticed since swapping to my K2 my legs aren't creeping back like they did when I rode on the Isabell. Loved the equisuede and got it in brown which looks really nice (And got over £420 for it when I eventually sold it on ebay due to the demand for that colour worth considering

For a younger horse you might find you prefer the pro the seat is more open and you can get off his back if necessary. Ridden on the 500 a fair bit as was popular at old yard not keen on the plasticy finish but definately a good basic saddle easy to keep clean too!
