Thoughts on working horse more than once a day

but I often hack before I school - my old loan horse and the new one really enjoy hacking and march out - so then when I take them in the school they are warmed and loosened up - and in a good frame of mind.

RE: riding twice... have done this when I was eventing my old horse - he was very fit and easily up to it.
 
Hacking is difficult - I would love to do more but the roads round us are crap and she needs a nanny! Also in the evenings after work this is just not possible in the winter.

Maybe I could invent a hacking simulator for horses to be used in the evenings in winter...
 
I watched CCJ ride Jonty today, and laughed at her antics. That mare comes out so tight she is like a corkscrew, without any rein contact she holds herself so tight and tense even if you drop all rein contact. then she has a good old bouncing session of pretend napping, refusing to move forwards, then forwards only in canter or sideways, then after about 15 mins of solid argueing she completely gives in.. doesn't take the rein forward at this point but goes longer and lower and relaxes.
After thirty mins she decides perhaps work isn't too out of the question and relaxes into a swinging comfortable trot. her canter is always a bit up and down but she is far from the impossible ride that is there when you first get on her.
I'm not sure if working her twice would produce any better progression, as it seems in her head not her body, once she has her little tantrum and C keeps her leg on regardless, she seems to accept work is inevitable and goes well.
I will suggest to CCJ she try your idea and will report back if it works.. I took some pics earlier today showing her working, didn't post the very very worst as she looks like she is being squashed together by two strong forces whioch she isn't, she does it to herself! www.narramorehorses.blogspot.com for today's pics
I think we would have to do longer than 15 mins for the first warm up, as at that point she's still boinging around!!

I just rang my sister to tell her, she didn't think it would catch on but I can see it now.
I am think a 360 degree projector around the sides of a horse walker type thing.
Love the different scenes idea...
You could be my artistic director!
