I am going to view this horse on Friday, he is 15.1 and is a 3/4 ID x Connemara by Blue Gray Perhaps. He's 11 and sounds exactly what I am after (a sensible, sane hack and hunter who will do RC, Hunter trials and local level showing).

I would be very interested in opinions? I have always had TB types before and never a cob - does he look like a decent sort of chap?

He sounds nice, very sensible, although he is 11 and is at the schooling equivalent of 5, as he was bred by the stud, broken and turned away at 5 (through no fault of his own) and then only brought back into work at the beginning of this year.

Still if he were a car he would be low mileage and thats a good thing right!? Am going to hack him out on the Forest so we shall see just how safe and sane he is with all the crab flies!

My mare was turned away from the age of 6/7 until she was 11 (when I got her) simply because her owner had given up. So she is also low mileage as you describe and I started from scratch - but it was so much easier than bringing on a youngster because she was much more level headed. Good luck on Friday I hope it all goes well

If he's Francis's then he'll be super and there's no way Francis would sell you something bad.
We bred a mare to Perhaps and the baby was the most laid back thing ever, despite the mare being a tb hothead!

Cobs are truely wonderful and very versatile indeed, he looks like a handsome chap, although it would be nice to see him with bit more of a cob neck on him but it will come from his breeding, still a lovely chappie.

Hope you like him.
