my daughter age 16 has a horse and only rides her for 30 mins a day is this enough excersize for the horse. She schools her takes her out on hacks and has the horse jumping once a week. I think she should do more or is it a dad thing to want my daughter to do more.

in my opinion a 30 minute hack isnt a lot but a 30 minute jumping session is plenty.
BUT without knowing exactly what she does and how much she pushes (or not!) the horse per session it is quite hard to say whether she should do more or not. Also A lot depends on the horse itself - how fit it is, how old it is, what it is expected to go on to do etc etc.
As Pinklillly says though, if your daughter is happy, the horse is happy and healthy (not bored or overweight etc) then that really is the main thing.

No at 16 that is okay, if you push them too hard they stop enjoying it. Much better that they have fun. Is she in a riding club or pony club, does she have friends she can ride out with. For a teenager it can get boring if they are always riding on their own.

^^ agree with the above 2! If she's happy I'd let her be (although I have the opposite problem with my 15yr old & have to drag her off :) ) if the pony is fit enough to do what she wants then I can't see a problem & it will vary with what she's doing. With ours they have a 30min jumping lesson once a fortnight & they work far far harder in that than in an hours schooling at home. She will know at that age that if she wanted to do a ode for example then she must work him more. xx
