Thread on where are all the hw's? Introducing ...

I am computer illiterate...I've uploaded photos to Photobucket and to this forum. Now, how do I get them onto my post? (I really should be hoovering and washing up!).

i would say heavyweight but coming previously from an arab cross most horses seem heavyweight!

he is only 4 so still has a lot of filling out and a bit of growing to do yet (he is bum high)

How tall is he and how much bone has he got (in inches)? He looks like a proper cob, possibly HW but it is difficult to judge bone from a photo, and without knowing how big he is we don't know whether he is a true cob or a maxi cob. He's very nice though!

SophieLouBee-Well you can have her for free but P&P may cost you quite a bit, she is a heavy girl! They are a Belgium breed, Trait Ardennais, and Fany is an ex-show horse and brood mare. Very rare you see them advertised over here.

Thanks to everyone who said she was pretty. Luckily she has a nature to match her looks, she is a total sweetheart and everyone who meets her loves her.

I use dectomax (sp) and that stops us having an itchy Fany!

A heavy weight cob should have a minimum of 9" of bone. A light weight cob has at least 8".

I have really enjoyed seeing all the heavies in various shapes and forms.

I could not imagine life without a clydesdale or a gypsy cob - they are such great fun and our two are true all rounders and above all lovely natured and forward going but safe rides.
 
I'm sure you're all sick of these photos (I really must take more!). I would be interested to know what 'category' KK would put Ron in. He's 16.3 and has 9 inches of bone. Ron is IDx (that is to say we suspect he's ID or IDx but not papered at all, passport was done 6 months before I bought him aged 10). He's 17 now and still thinks he's a 3yo Racehorse.

He is also a jump seeking missile. :D

I love all these pics of the heavies, so nice to see them appreciated and doing great work.

Can somebody tell me though, why do some of the HWs have feathers? Is it for warmth (can't believe that the foot gets that cold)? I have been informed that feathers are not a desired attribute for a ploughing horse as they get clogged up with mud?
 
Could someone baby-step me into displaying my heavies within a post. I've been told to copy and paste into chat box. I don't have a clue. I've got 5 photos in Photobucket and 2 albums of 3 photos each in HHO. How do I get them into my post? I'm on a Mac.

We use teatree and lavender. Suffolk Punches are featherless because they ploughed clay. Fany's feathers are coarse not silky like a clydie or shire.
Fany's never get clogged up with mud, but they are extremely thick.

No worries, photobucket has changed a bit over the last few days so it's not as easy as it used to be :) The 3rd picture is just gorgeous!

Rhino and FDC: The roan boy is our late 18h Clyde, Thunder. He was so special and loved by all. He was one of the most social animals I've ever known. He loved grooming our pet sheep; tried, unsuccessfully, to win over our donkeys; was the bay mare's best friend; and even accepted the overtures of our cat. Most of all, he loved people. He was even known to steal and eat a tuna fish sandwich (we found fish between his teeth during the hunt for the errant sandwich!).
 
O wow Rutland. No wonder you carried on trying with the pictures, I'd want to share them with the world too. What absolutely gorgeous horses!
