Would you put 3 horses in a field? Always put my horses in 2's but my mare is arriving unexpectedly arriving home (long story) and I thought that they would be much happier over winter if they were all together.

Two geldings one mare. They have all mixed but only in pairs - the mare is very bossy and one of the geldings is quite bossy, but I have never had a field injury to date.

Advice please!

I have 2 mares and a gelding who all go out together. One mare is particular bossy but the others just move out her way lol Never been a real issue :)

I currently have 3 in one field and they get on fine. They are all youngsters though so similar age group. Two geldings and one mare.
Older gelding is top dog, then mare then youngest gelding.

I have had no injuries at all, ever.

We have had 2 geldings and a mare together for a couple of years with very few issues. They do have a scuffle every now and again over their lady but she soon puts them in their place :D I do however see this as part of them being horses and they need to sort the pecking order out by themselves. They may get a few bites and knocks everynow and again however they scream and shout in protest if they are separated
Some however may disagree.

I have 3 in a field. My mare & Gelding & my friends Mare.

They all get one brilliantly, my mare is the top of the pecking order but never nasty. I turn all 3 out at once and bring all 3 in together, they are good guys :)

I have 2 mares and a Gelding
Never had a problem
They gave the whole attitude (ears back but no legs flying for a couple of days but all now have settled down and all now there routine of where there places are to eat etc

I had two geldings and a mare up until very recently. They were fine. The mare is in charge if there is anything new/frightening around, other than that the bigger gelding thinks he is the boss! Generally the mare leaves the geldings to play boy games and stays away a bit.

I used to put my two mares and gelding together (had to have the old mare PTS sadly) and they were totally fine. Yes, occasional fireworks, but nothing out of hand.

I have 2 mares and a gelding all out together.....I never (touch wood) have any injuries, though the gelding (4) is always annoying the mares (9 & 18), but they soon tell him to go away!! (Probably not that politely!!)
