Three in court over horse attack
Three men have appeared in court over an attack in which a horse was slashed with a blade in Staffordshire.

The Piebald mare, aged 19, was put down after it was found at Essington Hall Farm, in Bognop Road, Essington, with several cuts to its body in April.

Two 19-year-old men and an 18-year-old appeared before Cannock magistrates charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

All three pleaded not guilty. Their case was adjourned until 26 November.

Alex John Lister, 19, of Olinthus Avenue, Anthony Ronald Hinsley, 19, of Ecclestone Road, and Matthew Alex Corfield, 18, of Higgs Road, all of Wednesfield, were given conditional bail.

Poor poor mare.

Few years ago my mare was cut very badly around her 'bits' with a blade/knife. I was devestated and just could not get my head around it at all. Even now I do not like anyone around her I dont know.

The one/s who did my mare were never caught. Will say Police, Happa & vets were all very supportive - but it never ever leaves you.

Again, glad these people caught
