Not too soon - Ive been living with this for a while - its extremely frustrating because the cause was never found but mares stomach wouldn't empty properly -whether it was tumour/congenital malformation/something ingested or "neurological" was never clear because we couldn't empty the stomach enough to see the whole stomach - particularly the exit. A thick thatch of fibres filled the stomach blocking it - her stomach stretched to allow the food she was eating passage round it and she had ulcers due to this...but how long it took to reach the crisis no one knows and that doesn't sit well with me because we were active and I hate to think of contributing to her problem. The veterinary college rang this week to assure me that there were no lessons for me to take away for future horse management - which was very good of them - just one of those terrible things.

I think carpe diem is right though, we should all learn from your experiences.
