You might need to do something about the gate till he's a bit bigger too. I remember having to do a complete refencing job to the garden when we got the Lancs heeler pup. Stock fence might work for GSDs but the heeler didn't even pause before walking through it.

Absolutely! I'm planning to tackle that today!
So far, I have another 50m of mesh to go on the post and rail between the garden and the gremlins paddock, 20 metres of plastic mesh to do the main gate and the little gate, and 50m of a rather expensive fencing "system" to go on the inside of the hedge! I'm making zones, as I have zero interest in pursuing a flying puppy round the whole garden in the middle of the night!
