We went straight to the BASC area to see whant was going on regarding the scurries, we had my lurcher Finn with us as he was going to the lurcher show anyway, and our friend was bringing his SPringer bitch out for a day of socialisation - she has worked a bit this shooting season, but never done anything 'official'.

So I finally persuaded them to enter the dogs into one of the scurries - it was called Bulldog, a dummy would be fired, and the dog had to retreive it on command. I wasn't sure they would let Finn as you don't normally have a lurcher for a gundog, but he is a good boy!

Enjoy!

Finn waiting to go...

... and bringing it back...

And Meg doing what spaniels do!

Those videos are awesome

How on earth do you persuade Finn to retrieve, my greyhounds look at me like I am mad if I suggest they could do such a thing

Chase it, yes. Kill it, eventually. Bring it back....

Ah, Finn has always lived with two spaniels - it rubs off on him!

When I went to see him, he was the one who brought me a brush from a dustpan and brush set, and gave it into my hands - he was only five weeks old, but I decided he would be a good retriever, and luckily was right!
