The horses have been removed by the appropriate bodies and have put in custody till the legal side has been sorted out. Seemingly the blacksmith and vet have said that they can be saved but will probably suffer lameness for the rest of their lives

. Maybe Im overreacting but, wouldnt it be better to PTS if that is the case? The owner will get a slap on the wrist and maybe a fine if he's very unlucky. You guys dont know how lucky your horses are!

And I can't see anything at all - blocked by work netfilter.

However to the poster who said why not PTS if lame... I rescued ('stole') a dog who had been locked in a kitchen for the first 7 years of his life. It took him a while to learn how to socialise with other dogs and he'll never be as healthy as if he'd had a better start in life but he is now very contented and has a good quality of (slightly lame) life. There is often hope where you might not think you'd find it.

Not quite the same, Mairi said this, and I agree with her.

[/ QUOTE ] Tickles, I can see where you are coming from but , sadly, you cannot compare horses to dogs. A dog will lie down if lams, will hirple around on 3 sound legs to save the unsound one. A dog doesnt weigh 400 kilos plus and doesnt suffer in the same way as a horse if he spends most of his day in his bed. A horse is a prey animal so he is programmed to pretend he is sound otherwise he will be supper for some meat eater. Horses suffer from lameness stress amd tbh, if lame for the rest of his life, I prefer PTS. Maybe Im being selfish! Just my opinion and no need to take me seriously

Those poor dear ponies, that is just senseless
I hope that when the pr*ck that owns them comes to his end in this life, that is a very slow long and painful one!!!!!!
