I had to take the Spooky Pony to tonight's lesson, because I got off work too late to ride him otherwise...
...and he jumped!!! For the first time in many months, I found the guts to point him at a wee jump, and he trotted over it rather nicely. And then he did a bounce! Had a very good stare at it first time, but did it twice more quite calmly. My hands were shaking, but I stayed positive, and we did it.
After my three A&E visits following previous jumping attemps with the Spooky Pony, my confidence had taken a very serious dent. (Fortunately, it only applies to him, not to jumping other horses.)
Given how much calmer he's been loose-schooling, I'd been hoping to try again soon, but wasn't expecting tonight to be the night.
Afterwards, we went home the long way, so we could have a few nice canter blasts in the snow!
