I posted before about my friends hore who glurps when he swallows and has a slight swelling in the throatlatch area.

Anyway, they vet has been out and prescribed antibiotics for a week. Then if no change, the horse will be scoped.

There is no discharge, and the horses condition is good, looks 100x better than when he arrived a couple of months ago. No breathing problems and no pain in the throatlatch area.

It is all a bit of a mystery... any ideas!

Is the swelling there all the time are just for a few hours after grazing?

My mare sometimes comes in with swollen glands.. normally when she has been gorging in the field!! (piggy horse!)

Normally its gone by the following day..

I was thinking grass glands, but wanted to see what else you lot came up with. The horse is out 24/7 so it is unknown whether they go when the horse is taken off grass!
